Century Aluminum installs drip edge and drip cap systems for Toronto and GTA homeowners dealing with water getting behind the fascia, under the shingles, or into the roof deck. Serving Toronto, Mississauga, Oakville & the GTA. Free estimates available.
Drip edge and drip cap are two small components that do an outsized job protecting your roof structure, fascia, and foundation. Without them, water finds its way behind your gutters, under your shingles, and into the wood framing underneath. We install both correctly, matched to your roof profile and eavestrough setup.
A drip edge is a metal strip fixed along the roof's eave and rake edges, directing water off the roof and into the eavestrough rather than letting it run back behind the gutter and onto the fascia. We install custom aluminum drip edge profiles depending on your roof type, fascia configuration, and whether a gutter system is present.
A drip cap is installed along the top of windows, doors, and horizontal trim to redirect water away from the frame and cladding below. Without it, water runs straight down the wall, behind the siding, and into the framing. We install aluminum drip caps above window and door openings as part of new siding work or as a standalone fix on homes where water intrusion is traced back to missing or failed cap flashing.
On older Toronto homes, drip edge is often missing entirely or installed incorrectly, with shingles short or curled at the edge and no metal directing water into the gutter. We install a correctly profiled drip edge that integrates with your existing eavestrough system.
If you are seeing water stains on your fascia or rot at the roofline, the cause is often a failed or missing drip edge. We assess the full eave and roofline edge before recommending the right solution, so repairs address the actual source of the problem rather than the visible symptoms.
Century Aluminum is a family-owned exterior contractor with over 15 years of experience installing eavestrough, soffit, fascia, and roof edge flashing across Toronto, Mississauga, Oakville, and the GTA. Drip edge and drip cap installation is an integral part of the roofline work we do every day.
Every job is completed by our trained crew using proper roofline installation practices and backed by our 3-year service warranty where applicable.
Drip edge and drip cap installation is a detail most homeowners never see — until water damage shows up behind the fascia. Getting it right requires an experienced eye.
Drip edge comes in prefabricated and custom profiles, and the right choice depends on your roof configuration, whether a gutter is present, and how your shingles are laid. We specify the correct profile before installation, not after, so water is directed where it needs to go from the first rain.
Drip edge needs to sit correctly relative to your gutter opening. Installed too far in, it creates a gap where rain can get behind the fascia. Installed too far out, it can reduce gutter capacity. Because we install eavestrough systems every day, we understand exactly how drip edge and gutters work together.
We install industrial-grade aluminum drip edge and drip cap that resists rust, corrosion, and the expansion and contraction caused by Toronto's freeze-thaw cycles. Aluminum resists rust and corrosion, making it a practical choice for GTA roofline details exposed to freeze-thaw cycles.
Before installing new drip edge, we check the fascia board and roof deck underneath for signs of rot or water damage. If we find deterioration, we tell you before starting rather than sealing the problem inside a new installation.
These are the most common signs that drip edge or drip cap is missing or failing on homes across Toronto and the GTA:

Gary was recommended by a friend, and he did a great job putting new siding on our house. Very professional, reasonable price, and easy to work with. He provided lots of options, answered all of my questions, and paid attention to the finer details, which shows he takes pride in his work. He even took some of the scrap that I had sitting around after some demolition I had done in preparation for Gary and team. I would absolutely recommend Gary to anyone who needs siding or aluminum work.Posted on Google![]()

We used Gary and his team to replace the original, 30-year-old eavestroughs on our home with a better, modern system. His quote was good, he showed up exactly when promised, and did a great job. We will use Century again if we need more work done. Thanks Gary!Posted on Google![]()

Gary was great to work with through the entire process. I reached out for a quote and Gary was quick turning that around and was really helpful in answering all my questions. When it came time to do the work, he walked me through the work he would be doing in detail. The new eavestroughs look amazing, they did such a great job! I'd happily hire Gary and team again.Posted on Google![]()

Gary did an outstanding job repairing my eavestroughs, and I am completely happy with the results. His communication was fast and clear from the start, keeping me informed every step of the way and even fit me in earlier when he had an opening. He took the time to offer different options to fix the issue and helped me choose the best path forward. The quote was transparent with no hidden surprises, and the work itself was finished quickly and effectively. Most importantly, after a recent heavy rain, I can confirm there is no leaking at all. I strongly recommend Gary to anyone needing eavestrough repairs and would hire him again. Five stars.Posted on Homestars![]()

We had an excellent experience with Gary from Century Aluminum. A smallish job needed to be done redirecting a downspout. Gary explained options, including cost effectiveness, and booked that job relatively quickly between their larger commitments.Posted on Google![]()

Very pleased with the professionalism, workmanship, and responsiveness of Gary and his team. They completed the work exactly as requested and quoted, and I would bring them back for another job in a heartbeat. They corrected the pitch of my eavestroughs using new material and strategically repositioned the downspouts to address a longstanding drainage problem. I now feel much more confident that my property is better protected from future water issues.Posted on Homestars![]()

Gary was extremely informative and patient when he dropped by for quote and that was one reason I went with them instead of the others we got a quote from. The job was done with precision and patience and Gary and his team were quite polite and helpful. They pointed out and helped resolve some of the other issues that weren't in the other contract either. Good service, good experience.Posted on Homestars![]()

Excellent service
We offer a complete range of roofline and exterior solutions across the GTA:
The system that works directly with your drip edge to manage roof runoff
Protect and replace fascia boards damaged by water running behind a missing drip edge
Keep your eavestrough flowing freely once your drip edge is correctly installed
Help manage ice buildup at the roof edge where drip edge and gutters meet in winter.
A drip edge is installed along the roof edge to direct water from the roof into the gutter. A drip cap is a smaller flashing piece installed above windows, doors, and horizontal trim to redirect water away from the frame and wall below. Both serve the same core function of keeping water off surfaces it would otherwise damage, but they are installed in different locations and come in different profiles.
Yes. Many older Toronto homes were built without drip edge, or with undersized flashing that no longer meets current standards. If your fascia shows signs of rot, your shingles are curling at the edges, or you have recurring water stains near the eaves, missing or failed drip edge is one of the first things we check.
No. Drip edge can be installed by carefully lifting the first course of shingles at the eave edge, sliding the new flashing underneath, and re-securing everything. The extent of the work depends on the condition of the existing shingles and how the original installation was done. We assess this during our visit before quoting.
